Lori Hill-Sanders

Mrs. Lori Hill-Sanders is the Executive Director of the Disability Network Wayne County Detroit. The Disability Network of Wayne County Detroit is a consumer driven organization and a voice in the community for individuals and families with disabilities. We advocate for people with disabilities and encourage them to form a unified voice to minimize barriers that prevent independence and self sustainability.

Prior to operating and managing the Disability Network Wayne County Detroit. Lori Hill-Sanders was the Executive Director of the Taylor Reading Corps a 501(c) (3) organization established to enhance the learning opportunities for Taylor School District students through the recruitment, training and sustainment of volunteers.

Prior to managing and directing the Taylor Reading Corps Lori Hill-Sanders was the Executive Director of Urban Services and Development. A community service organization that provides life skills training, employment and training, guidance and counseling and other supportive services to address needs of youth, individuals and families.

Mrs. Hill-Sanders has more than 15 years of experience providing community services to disadvantaged youths, individuals and families in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Lori Hill-Sanders has developed programs which help Michigan parolees, successfully reintegrate into neighborhoods and the labor market. These programs reduce crime, unemployment, and recidivism rates through assessments for reentry planning, intensive case management and post-release services that include job readiness, life skills training job search activities and follow up.

Lori is a Certified Business Service Professional from Michigan State University’s School of Labor and Industrial Relations and she is responsible for providing business development services which include establishing and maintaining effective relationships with employers and the business community.

The goal of MY-CIL is to support NIDILRR’s priority for generating and sharing new knowledge that empowers CILs to improve transition outcomes of out-of-school youth from minority backgrounds.
