Dr. Purvi Sevak is a Senior Researcher at Mathematica and former Professor of Economics at Hunter College, and will serve on the MY-CIL Executive Committee, leading all Mathematica activities. She will co-lead the CIL survey (R2), serve as principal investigator for the data mapping study (R4) and the pilot studies (R5).
She will also contribute and provide oversight for all TA and training related to data and data analytics, and evaluation. Dr. Sevak brings extensive knowledge of programs supporting individuals with disabilities, including Medicaid, VR, SSI, and SSDI with over a dozen years of experience researching the impact these programs on post-secondary and long-term outcomes for youth and adults with disabilities.
Dr. Sevak has expertise in survey design, having trained at the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan. With this experience, Dr. Sevak brings a deep understanding of the methodological challenges in measurement and estimating causal effects of disability interventions. Dr. Sevak is also engaged with knowledge translation activities to build capacity of NIDILRR stakeholders. She currently works with state VR agencies to help them leverage data and technology to improve service delivery for transition aged youth with disabilities.
