MY-CIL offers a range of Training and technical assistance (TA) to CILs with the goal of the TA activities being to build the capacity of CILs to use knowledge and implement evidence-based practices in serving youth with disabilities from minority backgrounds.
MY-CIL staff can help CILs identify practices that work well for the target population, change those that do not work well, identify ways to improve outreach and case management, and improve services for assisting youth in achieving successful independent living outcomes as they transition to adult life.
If you are a CIL with specific questions about serving out-of-school youth from minority backgrounds or would like to learn more about how we can help your organization build the capacity to serve these youth, please [contact us].
MY-CIL’s structured training activities will include the following:
- Convening learning collaboratives with CIL staff to share new information and best practices. Learn more and register
- Developing a three-credit course at Hunter College to train providers to serve out-of-school minority youth with disabilities
- Developing a manual and webinars to train CIL staff to implement the interventions we develop through our research projects
